I know I’m usually a color fanatic, but I went for a more muted look to show you how to style an outfit with minimal color (I know not everyone likes to experiment with color!). Tricks and tips? Play around with different textures (feathers, fur, latex), cuts (trumpet sleeves, distressed look, asymmetrical designs), and embellishments (ruffles, sequins, fringe). These are often subtle details that will elevate your otherwise simple look. And of course, add an accessory or two! My favorites at the moment are brooches, skinny scarves, and belts.

Sidenote: I bet most of you are tired of seeing these tops on social media and blogs, but I couldn’t resist! The subtle yellow stitching details around the top and the feminine flared sleeves add a much needed je ne sais quoi.

Can we talk about this DIY choker?? I cut this strip off of my custom denim jacket a few months ago — a perfect fit around my neck. Denim jackets will usually have buttons across the bottom, so if you are in need of a new accessory and have a denim jacket, give it a trim and voilà! Your very own one-of-a-kind choker.
