And the Rome adventures continue! Although I am back in the States, I still have a lot of outfit posts taken in Italy to share with you 🙂
Think of my next few posts as outfit and travel recaps: a two-in-one deal. We took these photos before roaming around the side streets and popping into small boutiques. At one of the shops, I saw the jacket of my dreams — soft white pebbled Italian leather, embellished with dreamy cursive handwriting that reads,
“She’s a dreamer, a doer, she sees possibilities everywhere.”
That’s me 🙂
Kept my outfit sporty with a hint of sophistication. These look like running shorts here, but are actually made of neoprene – my favorite fabric because of the thickness and structure it affords. I then played up the look a bit with a pair of simple yet statement-y black heels.
We walked around until we reached the Banksy exhibit in Rome’s Palazzo Cipolla. Banksy, if you are not familiar with him, is a London street artist and political activist. He is also very mysterious — no one knows his true identity! The creativity and humor infused into his work are provocative. His images are powerful and leave you in a state of discomfort; I haven’t seen anything like these before. Although Banksy is most known for his anti-American and anti-capitalism pieces, my favorite painting in this exhibit is his spin on Andy Warhol’s Marilyn Monroe, where he replaced Monroe’s profile with Kate Moss’s.
Stay tuned for more!
