All ingredients for this açai berry bowl were purchased from Whole Foods

Since I got back to Chicago, I have been hard-core smoothie concocting, from veggie smoothies to fruity açai bowls. They are so delicious and healthy! Here, I made an açai fruit bowl — you can use any kinds of fruits (berries highly recommended). These bowls are very simple to make – less than ten minutes to put together. It is not necessary for you to follow this recipe to a T; my instructions can be used as a rough guideline to make your very own Instagram-worthy fruit bowl.

**this recipe is good for two bowls

Total Time: 7-10 minutes

Ingredients:

2 Açai Berry Superfruit Packs (frozen section in your grocery store)

1/2 cup of freshly cut strawberries

2 bananas

1/2 cup of fresh blackberries

2 cups of assorted frozen fruits

1 1/2 cups of coconut milk (or any other kind of milk)

2 tablespoons of crunchy peanut butter (or any other nut butter)

***honey, granola, other fresh fruits for decoration (can also use seeds)

Instructions:

Run the Açai Berry packs under hot water, for about 20 seconds each. Next, dump all of the listed ingredients into a large blender, except for the ingredients that will be used at the end for decoration. Add the milk last. Then turn on your blender at the lowest power setting and slowly move to the higher power settings. Do not start with the highest power setting as the abrupt force of that setting will cause the blender to explode! Next, blend for about 20-30 seconds, or until the consistency of your smoothie is thick and smooth. Don’t over-blend! Finally, pour desired amount into two bowls. Decorate as you! Voilà 🙂
