First day of school outfit! Here it is. I always like to keep first day outfits casual chic – not too noticeable, but fabulous at the same time. It’s not easy finding that happy medium.
How appropriate are these shorts for the first day? I know I featured them in a previous blog post, but I thought I’d bring them out again for the new academic year. On top, I put on a patterned crop shirt I got at AllSaints – the fabric is so fine and soft. I could live in their tops forever. In terms of shoes, I went for pink and metallic. You guys probably already know (hopefully!) about my obsession with this texture, so it only seemed suitable (no pun intended!) that I include it.
Finally, let’s talk about the backpack. I am very picky about backpacks. I need to be able to tell it apart from the others, as I throw it into a massive pile of blue and black backpacks when I get to our school cafeteria. I need my backpack to stand out and be noticeable so I can readily spot and grab. No leather, nothing too expensive. School backpacks are meant to be used, meant to get dirty, and practical. On top of all of the things you have to worry about in life, fretting over whether or not you might get a pen ink stain on your white pebble-leather backpack should not be one of them. I found this backpack in Korea (for a more than decent price!). Iron on patches included! I have been loving patches these days. I’ll show you guys the denim jacket I DIYed sometime soon 🙂
